The book thief written by Markus Zusak is a book I do and do not recommend for high school students for various reasons. It was during the age of Nazi Germany and a girl named Liesel Meminger was sent to another family after her baby brother dies. She was sent to Mr and Mrs Hubeherman were she admired her papa for his wisdom and kindness for her.

The major theme for this book is the power of the words. When Liesel was in the basement with Max he asked Liesel if she could tell him how the weather was outside today and Liesel said it was sunny and max said no use your own words and she described with imagery. That's how the book major theme is the power of the words.

The setting takes place in Germany during world war two and it sets a big role in the book because it makes everything more interesting and sets the imagery and everything else fall right into place. The author describes the setting very well because it all falls right into place with were it take place and how he uses imagery with the surroundings of the setting.

This book did not affect me at all but it was a very good book and I recommend you read it until the end. As I read farther into the book my thoughts did change because, at first it was really boring and dull to read, but as I got more and more into the book it became more interesting to read.

Overall I do recommend this book because its a great book but I don't recommend it because it is very time consuming and will take you a while to read it.

A Book Worth Stealing

I highly recommend the Book Thief, it's one of the greatest books I've read so far. From a 1-5 scale I give this amazing book at solid bold 5. This book is full of so many features that you cant get in some books. This book sucks you into it and wont allow you to do anything else but read.

The Book Thief is wonderful at its magnificent plot. The plot is just amazing with secrets, back story's, and its wonderful characters. Something unexpected is always happening makes the book explode with excitement. Zuskaks way of words explaining what's happening makes you feel like as if you are witnessing all the events he is writing about, It would be a shame to just walk right past this book.

This book has such amazing realistic characters that you get to know about in this story. If you read the book, you'll know more about Liesel than anybody else. She has the most in her back story and shes the only one that lives in the end. Max gives up everything, including his family to survive with Liesel. Everybody thinks Rudy as a joke. Hans was in war before and there's just so much with all the characters.

The setting of this story is a really good one. WWII one of the most important dates in history. The setting makes everything perfect and is really fitting. WWII enhances the story by a ton, it makes everything more interesting and perfects it. The bombings, the struggle to pay, and just everything else.

Overall i think this is a really good book and I highly recommend it to anybody whos looking to read a good book.

Why?? The book Thief is a good book

When i read a book, I want a book that shows emotion and also keeps me interested. The book " The Book Thief " is the perfect book that does both. Not only do these characters in this seem real, but they make you believe that they are actual people. This book makes you believe that this stuff actually happened. Also in this book I think that the author is trying to show a different perspective about what happened during World War 2.

Liesel Meminger is a young teen who in Germany. This is the time of when World War 2 is occurring. She is a young girl who was taken in by a family called the hubbermans. This book always showing how the characters are always doing something that you would think is crazy or Really boring. That's what's good about this books characters.

This book has a lot of figurative language in it while your reading.  You will also find a lot of setting shifts while reading if your pay attention to that.  The author basically made this book in order show a different perspective of what happened during World War 2.

So over all books, I would read this one the most just because it is a good book to read and it keeps me interested every time I read it.

The loner girl

The Book thief is a we'll write book because for many reason's. I would recommend this book to people who love the World War 2 era and to and to the people who would like to see the other side of the World War 2 in the German's eyes.

the book thief is a well write book because of the language that is used by Marcus Zusack. One reason why the language is that he uses a lot of creative language in this book. An example is "There were the erased pages of mein kampf, gagging , suffocating under the paint as they turned. He also has a very good structure based writing. An other example is "The man was positively mugged and beaten to a glass-shattering pulp.". This is how the language in the book thief was why it was well written.

Another reason why the book thief was a well written book was the narrator. The narrator in this book was death himself. He would explain how he would take the soul of the people who died. Also he would explain the color of the sky when he saw Liesel the three times. He even said he was haunted by people. This is how the narrator makes the book thief a good book.

Yet another reason why the book thief is a good book is the  character change that goes on in this book. The character change in this book happens to Rosa and Liesel they both did something that you would never believe what they do. Rosa changed by telling Liesel that Max had awakened and Rosa was not yelling at Liesel or calling her a pig. Also Liesel changed when the bombing happened on Himmel street by telling Rudy she loved him after the bombing when Rudy died. This is why the character change in the book thief made this a really good book.

These are the reason that made this book so good and this book will make you love it.

It's A Steal

In the world of  "The Book Thief" words are big part of power. The title is self explanatory, the main character falls deeply in love with words , that she risks stealing books. This novel is definitely appropriate for high school students, especially if studying 'World War II'. This novel gives a vivid picture of what was going on in those times.

Liesel Memiger was on a destination to live with her new parents, Rosa and Hans Hubermann  in Molching, Germany after being given up by her mother when Liesel's brother Werner dies on the train to the destination. Liesel experiences nightmares and Hans so kindly comforts her. Hans teaches Liesel how to read when she steals her first book at a cemetery where her brother is buried "The Gravediggers Handbook". In the novel, death himself is the narrator. He identifies the book thief (Liesel) and as he progresses through the novel he provides glimpses of the future without giving it away.

Markus Zusak bring the characters to life by using vivid language to describe them in conclusion giving emotions for each character. For instance, Rosa Hubermann, Liesel's forster mom has a very strong personality. Rosa seems like she is cold hearted, but she surprisingly has one on the biggest hearts in the novel. Hans Hubermann is comforting in Leisels eyes. He teaches Leisel how to read and also backs her up when Rosa is being hard on her. Leisel and Hans become very close in the novel. Max Vandenburg is a Jew that Hans and his family keep hidden. Max is caring and selfless , Max and Leisel gain a very good friendship Leisel considers Max her family. throughout the novel. Rudy Steiner is Leisel's friend he is adventurous and tough. Rudy has stood up for Leisel several times. Each and every character is brought to live by the very vivid language that Markus uses.

The majority of the story takes place in a fictional town of Molching, Germany on 33 Himmel Street. The novel last through 1939 and 1943. The setting seems dark, caused by the violence that is contained in the novel. The setting is beautifully described and this is incredibly important because it helps to visualize the setting.

I had different thoughts about the story. It is a bit intense but thankfully has comedic relief. Markus slowly builds the story, in the begging I had an urge to give up on the book but it was all worth it. I was amazed by the style that Markus used to write the story. The book grew on me from its emotional  effect. I definitely enjoyed reading this novel.

In conclusion "The Book Thief" is one of the best books I have read and I honestly dislike reading. The characters, setting and my reaction have and importance to the book. Leisel has understood how powerful words can be , words had a huge affect on Liesel. Therefore, the previous writing is why I would recommend the book to a high school student without a doubt.

The book thief

I would recommend the book thiefe not only for the story being told in the book but for the things it can help you understand such as imagery, characteristics, and and settings.the book thiefe has many intresting things that many people are intrested in such as drama  and surprise. Again I'd recommended the book thief for it's many intresting thing to share.

The book thief shows so many signs of imagery you can just imagine the book wall reading. Many pieces of imagery are explained and told in such a way you get more then just the normal picture you'll get the full image. The characters are explained with such a choice of imagery you can see the actual face of the person in the book. Setting is very much less explained with imagery it is giving the same things of imagery but just not in much more detail. imagery is given through other way death sees the sky when he picked up those three body's he seen red, black and white such as a simile for the notzi flag.

Characters are given such an imegry it is very possible they are an image in you head. The characters can either be nice or mean such as anybody today but in the end no one is mean everyone just dies.as liesle journeys on she encounters many people and has very different feeling towards them all. There are 5 main characters and they are liesle, Hans, rosa, max and Rudy , all expect liesle served a big part in liesle and her adventures life  these people are the people liesle loved.

With out a setting the story is kinda pointless because then you won't understand why things are happening but in the book thieves case the settings were very much very much told and in a good way mot to tippacle not to extreme . The setting is very Important to the book thief because most places have a disaster happen and the disaster is always explained to the point of almost every detail and it gives a very vivid image of the place everything is happening. The setting also sets a tone of mood at times such as if it's dark it might be sad and if lighten up by the sun a good day you must pay attention to setting a lot because if not you'll get very confused.

There for I would recommended the book thief to be taught to a ninth grade class or higher because of the many things it can teach you so much.

Book thievery

Upon arrival on 33 Himmel street Liesal Meminger's life would change forever. She would no longer have her mother or her brother by her side. She will only have Hans and Rosa Hubberman. Along the way, a man named Max too. There is soccer playing, falling in love, and book stealing.

The characters in The Book Thief seem to come to life. They seem real and allow you to relate to the situation their in. There is someone you can relate to in the book. You can always relate to something in the story. Marcus Zusak perfectly captures Liesal's teenage attitude. Everyone knows what it's like to be that teenager. Joining Liesal in here time on Himmel street is her best friend Rudy Steiner. Through out the story Rudy does everything he can to get Liesal to kiss him. All of the character bring the book to life. And Zusak's words make the characters even more realistic because he describes the characters perfectly and makes you fall in love with them.

The setting is set during world war 2. Molching, Germany is the exact place where Himmel Street  is located. And that is where Liesal  meets her new foster parents Rosa and Hans Hubberman. The setting of the story plays a major role in the story. Without this specific setting, the events in the book wouldn't be as important. This setting makes to book even better because its makes the book come to life. This setting is what makes the book because world war 2 is when Hitler came to power. During his time ruling is when he took all the jews and too much power. Himmel street is where most of the events take place.

My reaction to the book is one of the main reasons why i reccomend it. The book may start off slow and uninteresting but as the story continues it amazes me how great of a book it is. My thoughts rapidly changed through out the book. High schoolers should be required to read this. Its a great book and they can find it really interesting.

Code Talker essay

I do recommend the book "Code Talker". It describes the characters really well. The setting affects Ned because it shows the places he is in for World War Two. The plot is an Indian boy trying to adapt to a white society. The book "Code Talker" is a very interesting book.
One reason why I'd recommend the book "Code Talker" is because it describes the characters really good. For example, it says when and why the Navajos change differently. In my option I think the description of a character helps you understand the story better. In addition, the author said the Navajos had to cut almost all their hair off. This shows had to adapt to the white culture. Furthermore, it says Navajos names where changed. This helps to understand the book because it gives reasons why they changed their names. The characters in "Code Talker" are very well described.
Another reason why I'd recommend the book "Code Talker" is because it tells you about every setting. For example, it says when the Navajos move. This helps to understand the the reasons why they are doing stuff. In addition, the setting affects Ned a lot. It affects Ned a lot because Ned goes to a lot of places. Furthermore, the book tells us about how everyone adapts to the white culture they are in. To me a character adapting to a culture is very important. The book "Code Talker" describes the setting good.
Yet another reason why I'd recommend the book "Code Talker" is because there is a lot of interesting plots. For example, all the Navajos must change. The Navajos had no choice but to cut their hair, change their names, and more. This event is very important because no one is the same any more. In addition, Navajos could of picked what age they want to be. They where able to do this because no one had proof of date of birth. Furthermore, Ned wanted to be in the army but he was one year to young. Ned was able to lie about his age to go to war. The plot is the most important part of a book; and in "Code Talker" the plots are very interesting.
"Code Talker" is a very good book. The book describes everything very well. "Code Talker" is one of the best songs I read so far. It is a very interesting book with great plots and events. I recommend the book "Code Talker" because it is a great book.

The Book Thief

I do Recommend the book "The Book Thief" to Adults, but not to Any high school class. The reason why I recommend this book is because, it is simply a good book and great for any reader to visualize how times were in Germany back in WWII, also the Characters in the book are cool. But, One reason why I do not recommend this book to high school classes or students are because it is too long.

One Reason why I recommend the book, "The Book Thief" is because it is a very good book, and great for readers to visualize how times were in Nazi Germany during WWII ( World War Two ) . The book  is based on a family in Nazi Germany that shows how hard times were living during that time. Also on all the bombings happening because they were in the middle of a war.

Another reason why I recommend this book because the characters. The Characters names in this book are , Leisal Meminger, Papa, Mama, Rudy Steiner, and Max the Jew ( that the family offered a home to ) . Papa took in the Jew that left his mother and put him in the basement. Until, he got so type of sickness and had to sleep in Leisal's bed until he got better. Rudy is Leisals best friend and Leisal is the main character , the little girl.

One reason why I do not recommend this book to any high school class is because, it is very long and not very easy for students to understand as good as Adults might. Also , this book took almost half of the school year and we couldn't read any other book for the year. Even though it is a very good book, it's not very good for any high school class.

Those are the reasons why I believe this book is a good recommendation to adults but not to high school students.
The Book Thief
A book about a girl who is just trying to find her way in life.
By: Markus Zusak
Historical fiction

How does the setting affect how the book turns out?
The Book Thief is a book about a girl that is having a hard life and gets adopted. They live in a town called Molching. The town is described as being a small town without much to do. This town is where Liesel meets most of her friends and she also likes to go down by the lake with  papa they read books and papa plays his accordion.
It seams that the setting of the book affects how much of ww2 that Liesel experiences and how it affects her family.

I think the author wrote about a little girls experience on world war 11 because a child's experience can be different from an adults. I believe the author wrote on this subject because it was very easy to think of ideas on what could happen. This books genre was historical fiction the elements this book has is the nazis in the book would do things that the real nazis would do, and the reactions of people toward the Jews are what they would actually say. The intended audience is most likely young adults because it teaches about the struggles that a family would go through and what would happen to the Jews and there supporters.that is what I think the authors purpose of writing on this subject was.

The way the book affected me was it made me think about the struggles a family of Jews or a family harboring a Jew would have to go through. My thoughts about the book changed as I saw how the nazis treated everyone especially the Jews. I also got more interested in. How the other families and people thought about Liesels family. The book is related to my life in a way like my cousin has a pit
bull and he isn't aloud to let her roam about its like having a Jew in your house.that is the way the book has affected me.

I recommend this book to anybody who is interested in reading about a little girls thoughts about WWII and what would happen to the Jews and the people that

This blog is my thoughts on the book "The Book Thief."

A Long Way From Home

Nazi Germany 1939. A young girl makes her first act of disobedience by picking up an object that was sitting in the snow. Liesel Meminger  was at the graveside of her brother when she noticed the object. Liesel then picked it up and across the front read "The Gravediggers Handbook."

Taken place during the Nazi war Liesel Meminger loses her younger brother on a train. She then has to go a foster home which her foster parents are Hans and Rosa Huberman. With liesel's love affair for books, her foster father Hans teaches her how to read.  Liesel feels comfortable around Hans more then Rosa.

Rosa is described to look like a wardrobe sailor. She is described as a sailor because she has a mouth like a sailor and as a wardrobe because she is tall. Liesel is a powerful young girl who makes it far along the road. Hans is an accordion playing person who had a bad past he learned from. Max is another person who lived in the Hubermans basement. He lived in the basement due to being homeless. The Hubermans were kind enough to let him stay. This was a big risk because it was wrong for Jews to have a German body in there household. It wasn't so bad because Max was a kind and sweet person who connected with Liesel.

Zusak  the author of this novel makes his characters personalities seem real. There emotions and everything are on point. These characters are wonderful. A story of words created by an outstanding author who knew how to get his readers quickly adapted to. This novel has a good display of figurative language. His words can put a clean image of the story in mind. Zusak has a good setup for this book.  He puts death as the narrator. He uses death as the narrator to foreshadow. He uses this technique by having death spoil a part of the book. As you read you'll come across the part from the foreshadow. It's pretty unique. This format of the book is marvelous  and makes readers think.

Over all this is a great book.  I would recommend this book to someone who likes to read. Is book needs some tome to read but it would be worth it because of all the good words and figurative language. I honestly thought this was a great book even though I missed some of it.
The book "The Book Thief" written byMarkus zusak I believe to be a realy good book. a tale of love loss recovery and tragedy. In this book there are several key aspects that help to make it as enjoyable as it is. I would recommend this book to other high school students because of its cheracters, its setting, as well as how it made me react.
The characters in the book The Book Thief seem to come right off of pages. Markus Zusak is really able to capture the emotions and portray them in  the readers mind. Liezel is a main character of the book while reading I had no trouble visualizing all of her experience and emotions. Rudy another character is a relatable trouble maker who really gets close to the reader as the book progresses. These characters are the star of the show and the best part of the book.
The setting in the book is a compelling source emotion attached to the characters as we'll creating underlying tone of the book. The setting of "The Book Thief" is set on Hummel street Nazi Germany. This is essentially the poor part of town even more so than the already poor Germany. Because the book is set in the poorer part of town this creates an exciting and suspenseful foreshadowing of hard times to come. "The Book Thief" was also exciting because of the way it made me react.
This book I can honestly say is one of the best books I've read and I don't like reading. Everyone in the book creates a strong connection between the reader and the character . Every character was imbedded in my mind because of how Markus Zusak portrayed them. No matter who it was the book thief or there friends even the antagonists created a strong emotional tie with me. This book made me react stronger than most of the books I've read and I will never forget it. That is why I would recommend this book to high school students.

A book behind World War II, thievery, Nazi's, and death.

A book behind World war II, a girl who has a rough life, which gets worse. Although she makes the best of it, she has power. The power of words that drives her through fears from past, present, and future. The book thief they call her; Liesel Meminger. This story will put you in a suspense state with amazing theme, plot and characters.

I strongly recommend this book for high-school students because of one of the themes. The power of words; This theme is so huge in this book, but also huge in reality. Voice is such a big thing that everyone should have, and the book clearly shows this. The word shaker, which was a book written to Liesel before Max left really brings this theme out. The word shaker reminds Liesel of how powerful her words are. Shaking words, from books, her lips, and even from the lips of others. It reminds her to plant, but also shake words, of friendship, love, and hate.

Another reason why I recommend this book to high-school students is because of the plot. The plot that this book goes through is so sad, but inspirational. This book goes through a serious of events that break, and make Liesel. One strong heart breaking event that Liesel goes through is the death of her closed ones. Papa, Mama (Rosa), Her brother, and even her real mother, although she didn't leave, she still left her. Another strong even that Liesel goes through is keeping Max in her basement. Max was her hope, her inspiration, and her best friend. With max leaving, she though it was over, but with him being in her mind, she pulled through. This is what makes the plot so interesting. The fact that Max left her, and after that it all went down hill, she still had hope. Left over hope from her best friend Max.

This book would also be strongly recommended because of the characters. Most of all characters play a huge roll in Liesels' life. Mama, Papa, Max, Rudy, and even Death. Papa and Mama are the ones who take Liesel from her real mother due to her inability to take care of her, and they teach her so much without Liesel even realizing it. Papa teaches Liesel how to read, which is something so huge to have in her situation. Mama teaches Liesel how to be strong, how to be strong even at her weakest state. Rudy; Rudy teaches Liesel love and friendship. Rudy does everything with Liesel and keeps her very strong and worthy. Rudy keeps her distracted from everything going around outside of her, and although Rudy is in-love with her, Liesel doesn't realize she loves him too, and finally Max. Max is probably the most important person to Liesel due to his hope. Max shows Liesel so much that she can do with her words and knowledge. Max is also a huge part of hope for Liesel, although he leaves her, Liesel will always remember the advice and words that he had given her.

This book is such an amazing and powerful book that everyone should read. It teaches you lessons that you may need in life at some point. Despite its effort taking time to read, this book is an inspirational message to everyone that should be noted.
In 1939 through 1945 Hitler killed and brutally abused the Jews. He used violence to gain power and strikes fear in people's eyes. The author Markus Zusak wrote the novel The Book Thief to show the point of view of the people who were against Hitler.

I recommend the novel because it shows emotion on how the author feels towards the Book Thief's characters. Marcus Zusak explained their emotions and each one of them had individual characteristics throughout the story. Like when he had Liseal  explain the way max's hair was blond but was darkening like a candle. I think that this symbolizes the way his innocence was slowly fading away.

The authors purpose in my eyes was to show how the people who weren't for Hitlers ideas helped out by doing little things such as Hanse and Rosa. They each had their own opinions  and beliefs twords what they believed was right. Hanse didn't what the others thought.he seem a opportunity and took a chance by giving the Jew a piece of bread and later suffered the consequences.

My reaction on the Book Thief is a sad and inspirational story. It motivated me and taught me how to do what I felt was right and to not follow others. This novel showed me that no matter how many people are doing the wrong things never follow in there foot steps. I appreciate the way Zusak didn't just tell another story of how the Jews were affected but the way others were harmed as well.

All in all, Markus Zusak is. Great author and I strongly recommend that reading The Book Thief will be something that you will not regret.

The amazing book .

There's a amazing book name 'book thief' .  This book is so interesting because how leasel shows how she cares about her friends , family and books . I would want to talk about it because this book is sad and amazing .

I would want to talk about this amazing book.some way's that the character seem real was that I could imagine everything what the book was saying . I know that the character was nice towards the attitude from the authors. It seem nice because all the book showed it all about the story .  The author shows a lot . The book will say so many good things about leasel and her life story .

The emotional qualities from the book about leasel was sad ,because ruddy died, and because she loved books and they always burned them so she was sad about it . Leasel been though so many stuff that happened to her and her life that hopefully she could forget and move on about it . Also , leasel will be with her family and be great about it , she need to have a amazing life and care. More about her books and family ,yes she lose the boy that she liked a lot .

The book thief have something that would make you feel emotional about it . Some of the parts of the book affect me was when Rudy died , that affect me because i could imagine it how leasel was crying about it . She had to sound emotional how she cried for rudy ,that showed that she really liked him but she lose him . Also some thoughts about the book that changed as I was reading was when leasel was talking about with her mother or maybe she told her about Rudy death .

Some parts that this book related to my own life was when Rudy died , that part related to my life because I still remember that this boy that I really loved died from a car accident that remember me a lot about that , I know from inside that I could feel her emotion ,and how she felt about Rudy death . I could imagine her crying for Rudy . Conclusion ,I really like this book so much because it was really interesting i would want to watch the movie maybe that movie looks way better then the book .

The Book Thief

The Book Thief is a book filled with love, hate, mystery, and sorrow. You can't predict whats going to happen next, especially the ending.

When ever you think of World War 2 you think of the holoucast, but this book is different. It's about a innocent family living through WW2. I believe the reason why the author wrote it on this topic is because it's  the other side of WW2. Most WW2 books or stories are about the Nazi's and the holocaust.Liesel and her brother were adopted into a family that doesn't like Hitler and they hide a jew named Max while all the jews are being caught and put into concentration camps. I believe the author achieved his goal because it brings a diffferent perspective to a WW2 story. The Book Thief was made for people who like reading about WW2.

The Book Thief is a very slow paced book. It's also a very long book because it is slow paced. The author takes his time into getting into the all the action and interesting parts of the book. The author is very descriptive, he makes things interesting by bieng very descriptive. There is alot of conflicts in The Book Thief from the Hubbermans hidding a jew too papa giving bread to a jew infront of a officer. They all relate to one thing, thats disobeying the furher. The elements that drive the suspense is when they hid Max (Jew) and them not liking the furher (Hitler). The plot is probably the strongest part of it all. The plot is what makes this story mostly. It's the suspence, conflict, climax, and resolution.

The charecters play a huge role in this book. Especially Hans, Rosa, Max, Liesel, and Rudy. The charecters seem real because the author makes them have emotions and they seem to do what real people would do. Liesel plays soccer with rudy and Rosa does laundry for rich people basically, and Hans paints houses. The Author bases everything off of Rosa she is like the man charecter other then liesel nd hans. Rosa is very mean at the begining but then she starts to care for liesel and the thingss around her, like at first she never cared for max but then over time she really cared about him especially when the bombings and things occured. I really can't relate to any of these characters because my life isn't anything like theirs.

I mean All in all i would recommend it but then again if you don't like WW2 or anything that has to do with WW2 then this wouldn't be a book i recommend reading.

The Amazing Book Thief Review

The book thief is a very good book to read. It has many details and very specific characters. The author uses vocabulary that makes the book pop out. The book has humor and lots of sadness. At first, the book was boring and then I didn't want to read it anymore. But, a few chapters later, the book gets so interesting and emotional that you won't stop reading. It is packed with plots that will change the way that you read.

One of the main characters is Liesel Meminger. She is an orphan until she gets adopted by Hans Hubberman and Rosa Hubberman. Hans loves to play the accordion and rosa loves to talk smack. Although this is set in Germany during WW2, she has a blast because she is German. Liesel makes a friend along the way named Rudy with hair color of lemons. They go through an adventure of plots and they grow up together.

There is a lot of intense vocabulary in the book thief. For example, ponderous means labored and dull. Another word is infamy. It means a state of extreme dishonor. There are way more words that make this book pop out including the language that is in the book. For example, Rosa is always saying saumensch to everyone which meanss pig in German; including saukarl, which is a more insult meaning for pig in German.

The book theif has its funny moments and its sad moments. For example, Rudy is in a nazi camp and he falls in poop. A sad moment was when liesel's brother dies and she becomes an orphan. There are also moments when Rudy and Liesel play soccer outside and the conversation starts to get funny because of them talking smack to eachother. Those are some funny and sad moments. I wouldn't want to ruin the book.

In conclusion, i recomend this book if you are into WW2, history fiction, and adventure. It is a long book but once you start reading, it is hard to stop. It is a very well book put together by the one and only Markus Zusak. Give the book a try and see if you like it or not.

The Book Thief is an amazing book. Over all I would give the book a 4/5 because the book does an excellent job explain the setting, plot, describing characters and  getting to your emotions, but this book is very time consuming if you only have an hour a day to read it.

The first reason I recommend The Book Thief is because Markus Zusak does an awesome job building suspense throughout the book. One way he does this is by adding tragedy and sadness into the book. Zusak also adds foreshadowing To pull the reader into the mysteries the book has to offer. He also builds the conflict,  climax and resolution very well. This is the first reason I recommend The Book Thief.

Another reason that make this a great book is the setting. The Book Thief take place in Nazi Germany during World War II. This plays a big role in the book because Hitler was in power and if people had resistance to Hitler they would get bombed. The characters are influenced by the setting because they were poor and had to steal things that they couldn't afford.

This book affected me by showing me what happened to Jews when Hitler was in power. It also shows me how poor people were in Nazi Germany. I can relate to the book because I have lost family members and I have had my house destroyed. These are all the reasons I recommend The Book Thief.

The theory of the book

There are many different books. However, the book I recommend is " The Book Thief". This book is a good book for the provided reasons. I will tell you why and some examples of the book.

The author describes conflict, climax, and resolution step by step. there are many ups and downs in this story. There are big and small conflicts, climax, and resolutions. He gets readers stuck with a problem and by three chapters later he gets in touch with them and resolves it. Some elements that built suspence in the book is that some of the authors thoughts where in the book, there was setting shifts, and he would tell us what will happen later on in the book. I believe that the plot is stronger than other elements because with the plot the author will explain every element and he would not just say it he will describe them anf use strong language. All in all, I just told you how the plot is in the story.

Style is in this book too. Some of the "intellectual qualities" of writting of Markus Zusak is that he will tell us his thoughts in the book and provide hints. for example, "His eyes were the color of agony" (393), the author uses figurative languague. Also, "... dominoes were falling like dead bodies in the living room" (410), the author will also compare many things. Some of the "emotional qualities" of Zusak's writting is the actions of characters and the descriptions of hoe the sky will look like. For example, "...an ocean sky, with whitecap clouds." (389), the author will always describe the sky, whether good or bad, to the whole towns feelings. The dialogue of this story is strong. I know this because, the author usesdifferent language and strong vocabulary. "The Book Thief" has style!

I strongly recommend"The Book Thief". I recommend this book for three reasons. First, I know this is a good book to read. This is because it helps you in your english, such as, vocabulary and understanding. Another reason, is that the author Markus Zusak, gives good descriptions of what is happening in the story. Like most kids they are not good with books, with this author's descriptions, you will not get lost on what you are reading. The best part is that you can see the movie after you're done reading the whole book.

I believe that the author wrote on this subject because he was part of the Hitler issue or a family member and wanted to say his point of view in the story. I think he didn't use anothe subject because he was interrested on how we will react on the subject and our interest of Hitler. The genre of this book is historical fiction. The elements that this book is historical fiction is that the Hitler issue is the historical part and the telling of the story id fiction. The intended audience is people who love history, and enjoy stories that happen in real life.

In my own opinion, "The Book Thief" is a really good book and you should read it for fun and not as an assignment in school. This book provided many thinking and can help you in your life in various types of ways. In other words, you should check out this book soon.

A World Full Of Mystery! -- Love, hate, all in one.

Imagine a world where words are more powerful than actions. That's "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak. You and anyone will dig it. Historical but interesting, you'll learn about hate, love hidden in fake hate, and love. It may look boring, but trust me when I say this, it's one of the only books I actually enjoyed reading.
The Book Thief's characters tell us about the language they used and show how powerful words can be. At this time hitler, the leader, had brainwashed the Germans against the Jews, and the Nazi party was going on. Rosa would call Liesel or girls saumench and boys saurkel and they would listen right away. The words that you may find offensive, are just normal to them. The characters show bravery because they defend themselves and their loved ones. They show live towards each other. Rudy always showed and reminded Liesel how much he loved her. Even though Liesel never showed Rudy he loved him, she actually loved him a lot. This is how the characters language they use and how powerful they can actually be.
"The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak is a Historical Fiction novel. In this book you learn how times were like in Germany. At this time, world war 2 was going on and it shows how the soldiers were chosen to go to war. They would start training for war as early as at the age of 13 years old. One of the main characters, Rudy, was chosen to go to a training. They then start to show the hate towards the führer. The town was finally bombed and nothing's was left, the war was over. The Jew they've been hiding can finally come back and visit Liesel with out hiding.
The Book Thief's setting tells us how Germany was at the time Hitler was the leader. Everyone was controlled and everyone had to follow the führer's rules. Jews would walk through the streets on their way to the concentration camps. The place was always cold and the weather described the characters mood. Since the wars was going on, they had to hide from bombings. This shows how the setting describes Germany when Hitler was leader.
"The Book Thief" is a very interesting book. I would recommend it to everyone. The book may look boring and long but trust me, it's worth every single page, all 500. You'll enjoy reading this book as much as I did. This book affected me because now I would enjoy reading more, it brings a reward at the end of every good book. This is my reaction towards "The Book Thief".

Books and bombs

I would recommend this book for ugh school students. The  Book Thief tells the story of  liesel, and young girl sent to live with a foster family in World War ll Germany . Where she learns to read with her foster dad Hans and Max the Jewish man hiding  in there basement . Young liesel finds joy by stealing books and sharing them with others . This story takes place on Himmel st. Germany . During World War were the Jews are being exterminated .

This story takes place on Himmel st. Germany. This story was during World War 11 were the Jews are being exterminated.  Zusak put two main events that changed the story for me. One is when Max (the Jew) showed up at their door on Himmel street. That was shocking because it was right in the middle of the war and was very dangerous. The other was at the end of the book when bombing occurred on Himmel street were all of Himmel street died except for the poor liesel.

My reaction to this book was more alike surprising because I don't know how one girl can take as much pain the the young liesel. She's been throw a lot from a train crash to everyone around dies around her . I give this book a thumbs up . It is a we'll righten and recommend it to everyone.
This book is well recommend for high school students.

Timothy green book thief review

The book thief by Markus zusak. The book thief is a historical fiction about a foster kid that lived during WWII. She is called the book thief because the nazis were burning all the books during the war and she would still them if they weren't burnt or before they were burnt and read them over and over again.
The characters seem real because they have a story behind them. The authors attitude toward the characters is a positive attitude toward the good characters and a negative attitude towards the bad ones. The characters are 3D, they are 3D because they are not boring at all, they have a lot of information, so they are 3D.

I would recommend the book thief because,it tells you thing that have never been told about WWII before, it puts the story in the eyes of a little girl that has lost everything imagine how she felt during the war, the final reason that I would recommend this book is because it is a good book in general. I will give this book a 4 out of 5

Book thieving, champagne drinking, and soccer playing

One day on 33 Himmel street, Liesel Meminger realized her life would never be as simple as it was before. Having a new home and family was hard at first but in the end she was grateful those events that pulled her into her new lifestyle occurred. Book thieving champagne drinking, and soccer playing was all to come in the future.

The characters in The Book Thief are extremely defined and realistic. Liesel Meminger portrays an exact teenager in the modern days. Her and her bestie Rudy Steiner become closer than friends, Rudy was always looking for the right excuse to get Liesel to kiss him. Rosa and Hans Hubberman are Liesel's foster parents. Rosa seems mean and rude at first but she has a huge heart. Hans fell in love with Liesel from the beginning, he taught her how to read and write even if it compromised his sleep.

The setting of Molching and 33 Himmel street plays a big role because it's not really a big neighborhood, everyone knows each other and their gossip. Marcus Zusak describes the setting perfectly because you could imagine how the street and sky looks.

In the beginning of the book I thought I wouldn't like it because there just wasn't enough action . But , after I got farther into the book I was hooked!! I loved how Marcus Zusak used plenty of figurative language and setting shifts because it made the book more interesting to read.

All in all I believe everyone should be educated about the holocaust and this is an interesting and fun way to learn more. This book is not a documentary filled with facts, this is a fictional story based on true events of history. I believe the book thief should be taught in high school classrooms because it's an easy way to learn more about the holocaust but, some people may agree that this isn't an actual story about the holocaust and it should not be taught because there's not enough facts.

Your experience in the book thief

Should high school classrooms be required to read the book thief? I say yes. It is an amazing piece of literature with one of the best settings, characters, and plot that you can find.
The book is set on the fictional Himmel Street in Molching Germany where all the kids (Rudy Steiner, Tommy Muller, a few others and now, leizel meminger) spend their days playing soccer racing and scheming like all kids at their age. Himmel Street is where most of the book takes place and while you are reading you will forget where you were and focus on where you are, Himmel Street, and there is no other place you’d rather be.

But you are not there alone you are hanging around with Rudy leizel and the rest of the gang whether you are scheming to steal apples helping Rudy win leizel’s affection or just trying to survive the law of the fuher you will most definitely enjoy yourself while doing it with this great cast of playful dramatic and even loving cast of characters.

What you do while you are there is pre determined but it doesn’t feel that way It feels like you are just going with the flow of all your friends and living with them day to day experiencing every last detail you will hate the fuher you will steal apples to survive you will be there for your friends leizel Rudy and even max when they need you most

But of course everything is not always so peachy; you are Nazi Germany after all
Hitler is killing all Jews, but why them, there’s nothing wrong with Jews, Exactly but Hitler’s mental state is nothing to brag about and he believes them to be inferior.

What can I do to help my Jewish friends, the answer, nothing, well, you can hide them but if they are found then they will be sent to a death camp and you will be executed, oh yeah you didn’t know about the death camps because you where just a little German boy (or girl), so naïve, yes they are killing the Jews by the thousands with poison gas executions by rifles and even starvation, the most brutal way to die, but don’t worry you’re not a Jew and you definitely aren’t hiding one, you could get in trouble, coward, but what of your friend who always seems tired and especially secretive and you even see light going into the basement at strange times in the night, oh no, god damn it leizel, what will you do now, rat her out, help her, or just leave it be, yes I know it’s a hard choice but this is how it is in Nazi Germany, you are cold hungry and your best friend and her family are most likely traitors, life must go on but if you survive is completely up to you, and death……DUN DUN DUN

The thief that steals a lot more than just books

This book is amazing it goes from mood to mood for example happiness and sadness are closer than you might expect. Yet it all works and it works so good!the characters will get to you and you will end up loving them. But the sadness will hit when big characters die you might even cry (p.s. I didn't but was still very sad). All in all I would recommend this book. The plot will astonish you.

I recommend the book thief based on its characters because they are interesting just finding out their past. For example Liesel our main character had a hard past being put to adoption with her brother but him dying on the way to their new foster parents. Her new parents seem nice well at least one of them. Any way the characters in this story will surprise you at time and mostly the mean parent.

The plot of this book is astonishing it literally has anything from life, love, death, and hate. Maybe if this book wasn't as long you wouldn't get as sidetracked. This book is to long the author takes to long for the good part to begin and once it does it takes to long of brakes between the good juicy interesting parts. Any way because of the way the book is written it may seem like it takes you years to read.

My reaction to this book was a lot better than my previous statement. Once you finish the book you relize how good this book really is. The plot was just so good and unexpected. The characters were easy to love. The setting just makes it ten times better. When you reads a book taken place during World War II in Germany people instantly think Jews but this is about Germans that want to help Jews which is a totally different point of view.

The book thief, a book that can go from laughter to sobbing is just a wonderful book that illustrates the way of anti-nazi Germans helping Jews get through life.

Verstehst Die Führer

I recommend The Book Thief to everybody. This book is totally is totally one of the best books I have read so far. It literally changed my perspective toward all the chapter books.

This book is really recommendable because it takes place in Germany, in a small poor community named Munich. It is also interesting because you can learn more about how life was during the WWII. The Book Thief will take you on a journey back into the time of the holocaust.

I recommend this book this book because the author tries to show how brutally Jews were treated. Also, how the Nazi soldiers transported them to different concentration camps. Like when the Jews were being forced to walk through Munich in the book. They were treated like dogs, they looked like bodies with out souls. Their legs could barely sustain themselves or their bodies. Liesel looked at them with frightened eyes looking for her friend Max.

Another reason why I recommend this book is because your reaction to it will be almost similar to mine. This book affected me in so many ways, because the author gives exact details on who's going to die next. Other books don't do that. At first I thought this book was going to be boring but as time went and I read more I started to get more familiar with it and that's were I started to like it. I sometimes feel like Rudy because he is really athletic and out going.

I really recommend The Book Thief to everybody. I recommend  it so that you can see the war in the perspective of a German. Also so you can learn what it was like to live in the time of the holocaust.

Liesel and her struggle

                                          The Book Thief

"this fabulous novel is rich, complicated and wise enough to satisfy a reader of any age"
                                                     -The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

The book thief is a story about a girl named Liesel, she is taken to a new home because her mother can no longer afford to take care of her or her brother.  Through out the book you meet many characters such as Liesel, the protagonist, Rudy, Hans and rosa huberman, and max. This story is narrated by death. The perspective of the story is odd, mainly because of deaths point of view on the world and humans.

The setting of the Book Thief is set in Nazi Germany. World war 2 has just broke out. As Liesel makes her new journey to her new home her brother dies. At this point Liesel steals her first book, The Grave diggers Handbook. From now on when Liesel arrives at her new home she will have terrifying nightmares about her brothers death. when Liesel moves into her new home she suddenly has a new momma and papa. Rosa, her new mom, is a strong, mean person with a huge heart but doesn't show it. Hans, her new dad, is a man of his words. Liesel and him get attached very quickly and have a strong relationship.

In my opinion The Book Thief is an amazing book! It opens a whole new perspective to the world. Deaths point of view of the world and humans gets the reader to think about life and how valuable it is. This book is also great because it is one of the only books I have read about a Germans point of view in world war 2 . It allows us to see and realize that many Germans were victims of world war 2 as well. Not all Germans are evil as they are said to be . The sad part is that it makes us , the readers, realize that there were many Germans living like this during world war 2. This are just a couple of reasons why The Book Thief is an amazing book.

I rate this book 8/10. It is an eye opener and it makes the reader feel many emotions for every character because Markuz Zuzak brings every character to life. I would defiantly recommend this book for any teen and above. This is because the Book Thief is a bit hard to understand and it challenges us as the reader.

The Hubberman

Imagine a certain time where there was a lot of hate, for having more territory or because they wanted to feel superior. The Book Thief gives a vision of someone who loves reading. Marcus Zusak gives a brief story of a little girl that suffers a lot. This book might appear boring but it's the best. In my opinion it's one of the best books I have ever read.
This book setting happens in Germany in a time where it was really poor country. I refer to the time when Hitler the Nazis had control over the country. In this period of time is when World War 2 was happening. Almost all Germany had lack of resources and was a really poor country. This book setting plays an amazing role in this story.
Liesel arrives to Munich in Himmel Street. Where some wonderful generous persons called Hans and Rosa Hubberman adopt her. She meets a lot of people such as her love Rudy,Max and others. We might think she's in the right place, in the right moment to live a wonderful life. Something we don't know know is that she's going to loose the people she most loves. This story is amazing.
The authors purpose was to show what World War 2 caused. To give us an image of how Germany was. Also to show us that a lot of families died. During this period there was actually a lot of conflicts going on.
I didn't know this book was going to be an amazing story. My first thought of this book was that it was going to be a boring book, but if you actually read it you will notice its very interesting. I learned to not judge a book from its cover. I really encourage you to read this book.

The German Town

In a small poor German town. A girl by the name of Liesel Meminger finds hope through reading books. But encounters some problems while living in the town of Molching during World War 2.

One reason why i would recommend the book "The Book Thief" by Marcus Zusak. Is because the book teaches the reader that words can be powerful regardless of anything. That even if you can't do something with actions physically then do it with words. This can help students fight for what they want using words. But not using immature words but with sufisticated words so that the person they are talking to has more respect for them.

The Setting of the book "The Book Thief " by Zusak takes place during World War 2 in a German town that is dirt poor. Marcus Zusak describes Molching, Germany as a town were everyone knows everyone. Throughout the book the author makes it so descriptive that you can picture everything in your mind. The setting is perfect for it to be set during World War 2.  The author describes the town throughly. For you to almost be able to picture it in your own head.

My reaction to the book "The Book Thief" was this book it too long and too big. But this book is good for educational purposes. But it is really long and well it gets a bit boring at times. But it is like this because Zusak uses lots and lots do details to help you visualize everything perfectly in your head. And as a teenagers we like to see and visualize things not not really read a lot.

I would recommend this book to be used in High School class rooms. Why well because of the great literature that it holds. The story plot to it. But one dislike would be the length of the book, and down parts where it is not all that interesting but besides that. I would recommend this book.

The Passionate Desire

The Book Theif is a good book as well as it's title I suggest you reading it.

The Huberman family struggle during war world 2 as a poor family in a small street called Himmel street. They live during a time which in my opinion is worse place to live. They live in a time where certain people didn't like certain persons. This story was told in a perspective from life and death which gives it a better image of the place in where it was taken place and the foreshadowing and the figurative language really stands out which gives you a better image on the story.

Liesel the adopted child of Hans Huberman and Rosa Huberman defines the world as an ugly place after seeing the inequalities of life. The inequalities was toward the Germans to Jews. The book thief named Liesel steals books through out her life and sees the importance of them. Rosa also known as the women with the big heart hides her inner self which eventually reveals. Hans Huberman was once a German soldier that led him to a promise that he and his family have to go through.

Him and his family have to take care of a Jew. Even though it can get them into some serious problems the continue with their promise. There promise turns into a desire. The Jew was named Max which  they care so much about. Their promise leads them to the end of the book.

This book will emotionally touch your heart and leads you to a unknown feeling that makes you want to read it again and begging for more. The ending really inspires you. It makes you feel that you should value more the things that you have.

The Book Thief !

The book thief is a book written by Marcus Zusak that relates mostly with WWII and history. It is a great book that I recommend for the following reasons.

First of all, because it has a great set of characters for example, Leisel she had to adapt to a different family and life. Max a guy who was hiding in her basement, that soon makes them great friends. They are all interesting and you can see how some of them change throughout the story like Liesel and Rudy, a friend that she always just saw like another friend , nothing more than that. But at the end she starts to feeling something more than that. All of them faced something hard at one point. They all seem real even though we live in a different world than theirs.

Another reason why , is because of its of its setting. The setting is like a sad place , where nothing really happens , but Leisel's papa playing his old accordion. And mama yelling at her for pretty much everything . " you saukerl! " But one day ... Boom! Something happened that makes a turn and changes everything .

Lastly,  what I thought about the Book Thief ? For me this book was interesting. Theirs many things you don't expect to happen. Like Leisel's family hiding a Jew and taking care of him. Instead of turning him in or like a young girl stealing books when she hasn't even learned how to read. At the beginning for me it was kind of boring and long. But as I read it, it got better and better.

This is why I recommend it. I think the Book Thief is really based on theses two things, characters and setting. But read it yourself and see what you think about it .

My point of view of "The Book Thief"

Some people think that "The Book Thief" it's a good book and sometimes it could be if you understand the characters and setting and everything. But others think it's a bad book like everything don't make seance and it's difficult. Everything just just depends the way you are. But honestly I don't really think that "The Book Thief" it's a good book I don't recommend high school students reading it for many reasons.

In the "The Book Thief" there are not good characters. For example the characters are boring even though some people say that there are unique.  But it's only Liesel and papa and sometimes it would get me mad like the way they were. Like that' papa would smoke and it would seem that he don't care about Liesel. But he actually did.. Also in that' book there is too many problems. For example like what Liesel should like and shouldn't like and what was right and wrong according to them.

"The Book Thief" is not a good book it has too many changes. For example sometimes it would go from present to future or from future to past and like that. Sometimes  I wouldn't know who was talking is it was "death" or papa or someone else. So then it would be really confusing also I would think that I'm reading what's going on but I would be reading what already happened or what's gonna happen. And it would be really frustrated .

"The Book Thief" is not a good book. For example when I would read something it wouldn't make sense . My reaction was bad I would get lost backseat I doesn't know what was going on. Like one minute it would be talking about one thing then drastically it would be talking about other thing that has nothing to do about the subject. That would get me lost in the reading . Also later on I would get really mad because I wouldn't know what was going on and the it made me not want to read anymore.

Many people think that "The Book Thief" is a good book and some don't, I think it's not a good book bascule it's too long and also some words are hard  to understand. Then sometimes when you don't understand a word then you skipped it and then you don't know what's going on and what's happening. The hardest things are the setting shifts and the words. In high school they should let us read books that aren't that's long and don't have that many hard words. If they are hard words then we are not gonna want to read. We get frustrated and bored and don't wanna read.

An Amazing Story .

The book thief is a book that will make you feel so many ways . It's an amazing story about the power of words and how a young girl named Liesel uses the words for good .

The way the author describes and gives life to the characters is amazing . The narrarator of " The  Book Thief " is death. As weird as it sounds, it's just brilliant how the author gives death so many human-like characteristics , " I am haunted by humans ." Is one of the many quotes Zusak gives deth ,the narrarator . How he gives deth the ability to describe and explain each character very we'll is amazing . How he describes Liesel, Papa , Mama, Rudy, Hotzapfel, the mayor's wife , and everyone else is so different  and unique. How it sais , " Rudy's lemon hair " , " Mama's cardboard lips ". Zusak just has a very unique way of describing characters and making them seem as if they're alive.

The Book Thief , based on Zusak's style makes the book even more interesting than what it already is. Even though it's words and vocabulary are difficult, once you understand , you get more of a picture of what you are reading. The emotional qualities of the writing in " The Book Thief " are many . There is sadnes, humor, happiness, suspense, the book just makes you feel many ways. That's one thing I love about this book. The way Zosak uses figurative leangauge is very creative. When you're reading this book, it puts so many pictures in your mind. It's as if you can see everything.

The Book Thief is a really, really good book. At first I thought it was going to be this long boring book , but actually, it's a very interesting and by the time we started reading it , it catched my attention. The book isn't related to my life because I wasn't in a situation like Liesel (the main character ) but I can say that , I learned many things about this book.

High School students should be permitted to read this book because the way Marus Zosak used his style of writing, the way he describes the characters in such a unique way, and making the book influence my life are some of the qualities that make "The Book Thief " a great book .

My Book Recommendation Of " The Book Thief "

Yes, I do recommend this book. My rating on this book for 1-5 is a 4. Initially, each character has a unique and different personality. Also, the setting is interesting because it was during WWII. Finally, my reaction to this book was that I thought it was sad but interesting at the same time. In conclusion, these are the three main reasons on why I recommend this book.

"The Book Thief" has good characters in it. Initially, because each character has a different personality. For example, there is a character called Papa. He does not support the Nazis, but his son Hans Jr. does support them. Papa is a good character because even though everyone supports Hitler he stays strong and doesn't support him at all. Also, there is a character named Liesel, and she has secrets some people don't know and one of them is that she steals books. This makes her a good character because she stole a book that Hitler wanted burned, and thats " The Shoulder Shrug." Finally, there is another character who doesn't get along with Liesel, and thats Rudy. This makes Rudy a good character because it adds a little bit of humor to the book with the fighting that goes on with him and Liesel. In conclusion, this is why I think "The Book Thief" has good characters.

"The Book Thief" has an interesting setting. First, because this was during WWII. In the book the setting is described in a way that you are able to imagine. For example, "There was a small circle of light and the shadow dressing itself" this is on page 454. This makes it a good setting because you can picture in your head how its dark all around and theres just a little circle of light. Also, the author mixes the character's attitude with the setting. For example, on page 399 it describes how guilty Papa felt and he uses the phrase "The kitchen cupboards were the shape of guilt." By his description you can picture how disappointed and guilty Papa looks. Finally, there is a street that is mentioned a lot in the book and thats " Himmel Street ." This street is where Hitler aways makes his meetings and the book burning. In conclusion, in "The Book Thief" Markus Zusak had good descriptions about the setting.

"The Book Thief" left me with a funny feeling. Initially, my reaction to the book was that it was sad but interesting at the same time. For example, the book affected me with how Liesel struggles with her life. This made me feel sentimental. Because I can relate with Liesel because some things she struggles with i have to struggle with too. This is related to my life because there are some things Liesel can't do. There are things i don't get enough support for so i can't do them either. Finally, honestly at first I thought the book was boring, but once the author starts talking about the Nazi and how Liesel and her family don't support them, it gets interesting.

In conclusion, I do recommend this book. Initially, because "The Book Thief has a different and unique personality for each character. Also, the setting is interesting because it was during WWII. Finally, My reaction to the book was that I thought it was interesting but sad at the same time. These are my reasons on why i recommend "The Book Thief." Hope you read it :) .

The Book Thief

A tale of Liesel meminger, death, thievery, and a secret.

Imagine a title of a book named after something that describe you. The book thief is one of those books. It is written by Markus Zusak. This book and some of his others are recommended for high school students to read. This book's genre is historical fiction based on the setting and the story.

Liesel  Meminger is a little girl and the main character of this book . Her hobbies are stealing books and causing mischief she also likes to read the books she stole. Her best friend is Rudy Steiner  who also helps Liesel steal books and other things. That's why she is called The Book Thief. They are both neighbors who live in Himmel street. She was adopted by a couple who already had two kids. The couples names are Hans and Rosa Hubbermann. Hans and Rosa hide Max Vandenburg  a Jew. This shows what kind of people are Hans and Rosa Hubbermann. Max becomes a very important person to Liesel. The characters seem real and have many personalities. The characters such as Liesel, Rudy and others grow older and mature more. I can't relate to the characters in the book thief. Liesel shows more personality than any other characters in this book. Rudy shows some love to Liesel and likes her. Later on Liesel ends up falling in love with Rudy.

The setting takes place in Nazi Germany 1939. It is during World War II. Liesel lives in Himmel street which constantly is on alert for Ally bombs. The setting plays a big role in the book. The author describes the setting a lot and goes to different times and places. The setting influences the characters a lot. One reason why is because when Rudy jumps into the cold freezing water it is more interesting to Liesel than Rudy jumping into warm water. He is like a hero to Liesel and a good friend.

The book really didn't affect me at all. I didn't feel sad when it was a sad part in the book. At first I  thought this book was boring and very long. After I read more and more it became interesting  and I began to like it. The book was still long and takes long to finish reading. The book really doesn't relate to my life. I haven't been through what Liesel and the other characters have been through.

The book thief is interesting to read and very long. I recommend this book to other High school students and teachers to read. I think anybody who reads The Book Thief will like it . Markus Zusak. uses high vocabulary and complex text which makes it a challenging novel. Markus Zusak is a very  interesting author.

A Story of a Girl Named Liesel

A story of love, death, thievery, and a little girl who lives on Himmel Street.

Imagine a life as a foster child. Imagine seeing your brother die and be buried in the snow in front of your own eyes, living with new parents, living with Nazi's everywhere, hiding a Jew in your basement, and stealing books. All of these things about a girl named Liesel. I highly recommend this book for high school students, it will really grasp their attention.

Liesel Meminger arrives on Himmel Street. She meets her foster parents, Papa (Hans Huberman) and her Mama (Rosa Huberman). She also meets a boy (Rudy) and a Jewish man (Max). Hans is a very important character in this book, he is wise, he has a great impact on Liesel and the story. Papa changes through out the story, he starts to show a lot of emotion, a lot of love towards Liesel and Max and he has a lot of personality. Rosa is Liesel's foster mother, she is very loud and mean through out the story, but as you read more and more, you understand that she has a lot of love and a big heart. Rudy, is Liesel's best friend and he is madly in love with her. Max, he is the Jew who lives in the basement, he has a great impact in Liesel's heart, he has an impact in her Papa and Mama's heart too. All of these characters in this book have a lot of emotions and personality.

As you know Liesel lives on Himmel Street. The Holocaust is happening at this time and her foster family is hiding a Jew in their basement. Now this is very dangerous to the Jew, Papa, Mama, and Liesel. If they get caught hiding this Jew their lives will be over. Their town is kind of poor and most men who live there are in a Nazi party, this town is known as Molching. This setting that Liesel lives in impacts her life a lot! It also impacts the people around her.

This story has a lot if imagery and figurative language. The author describes the sky and surroundings perfectly. The authors words can make you picture things as beautiful as you can imagine, the author can also describe a scenery as worse as hell itself. He tells a very emotional story, there are plenty of sad and devastating moments in this story, and there are some very happy moments in this book too. The language and vocabulary is very beautiful. It's sometimes hard to understand but, you just can't stop reading "The Book Thief". This book is very long but believe me it is worth it.

"The Book Thief", is probably the best book I have read and is by far my favorite book. So I highly recommend that teachers use this book to educate high school students. It will grab their attention and they will absolutely love this book.

Report

The book thief is a book that is cool. Markus Zusak the author of the book writes good books. The Book Thief is a historical fiction.

Th author uses conflict, climax, and resolution to make a good book. There are elements that suspense the book. When Hans decides to hide a Jew in the middle of the holocaust. Also, ehen when Hans decides to give bread to the Jews. There are multiple conflicts in the book. For example, when Hans hides a Jew named Max. Also, that the city where Liesel, Max, Hans and Rosa live is getting bombed and try to avoid the attack.

The setting of the Book Theif is Molching, Germany. It plays a role  in the book because Hans decides to hide a Jew in their basement. The setting plays a role in the book because they decide to hide a Jew  in the holucaust. Markus Zusak is descriptive to the setting of the book. The setting  and plot influence the character. They influence the characters, for example it makes Hans more brave and helpful towards the Jews.

I think the authors purpose of writing this subject is to describe the Holocaust. He wrote it to describe  how the Jews were treated in the holocaust. Also, how some Germans had sympathy towards the Jews. Making them want to help the Jews. Markus Zusak achieved the goal of  describing the holocaust. The book is a historical fiction. It is about the holocaust. The elements that the book has is suspense. The audience the autor wrote is towards the people curious towards the holucaust.

I would recommend the book. If I were to rate the book from one to five I would rate the book a three because the book is good. Reason why I would recommend the book is because the author describes the plot, the setting and the purpose of the book good.

Taking Books

[A tale of  family, friends, Jew hatting, Jew loving, and deaths.]

Imagine being in a old poor Jew hating town, where families live trying to do there best at staying alive and give your kids what they want. One little girl loved books and one way she was getting books was stealing them. She's " The Book Thief ". For kids coming to high school should read this, it is a journey through the Holocast and how the struggle was. This story is a historical fiction giving some history behind the holo cast. Mark Zusak the author wrote a really good story where if you start reading you can't stop.

When Zusak wrote this story he made it very interesting by making it seem real. When the author created characters he made a timeline for each going deep into one another's lives bringing everything to life.  Threw out the book the characters had at least one thing about there past. They all had lives and personalities makes each one different. The characters also changed through out the story changing there opinions about what's going on and showing there real selfs. Last I relate to the characters because I know how it feels to struggle and at times have very little of what you have.              Quiet little street, Himmel st. . Susan made this street calm nothing never ever happens. This plays a big role because it's where the story mainly took place. Zusak explains the setting pretty we'll making it seem like we're there. Also the setting influences the characters to do many of things like painting on wall or building snowman in the basement.

I was amazed after reading the book thief it just pulled me in and blown me away. I love every little detail Zusak put in that's why I like it so much. This book emotionally effected me because all of the attachments in the story. My thoughts changed when I seen rosa was taking care of max an I thought she was so mean at first. This book is related to me because we once took in a foster teen even though we were struggling.

I recommend this story because the characters, setting and my reaction. First, Zusak made every character is different an complicated and it's  good for a challenge. Second, the author made the setting very creative and calm making it easier to find at times. I think Zusak did a really good job and I really liked it. It was very interesting. This is why recommend it for high school students.

Death's Diary !

Having to live with fear your whole life, doesn't seems very cool does it ? The Book Thief by Markus Zusak is a historical fiction novel. This novel is a great novel for 9th graders to read in class or even to read in their own time, however it will take a few time to read it . Zusak the author of the book uses great style to tell the story by using complex and interesting language . The Book Thief's narrative is Death you might think that it's weird but thrust me is  a great novel that people of all ages will enjoy it !

Liesel Meminger (protagonists) a 15 years old girl  , lives in Nazi Germany with her fosters parents after her mom is force to give her and her brother on adaption . After her brother dies on their way , she arrives to her new home with her foster parents Hans Hubermann and Rosa Hubermann . Rosa Hubermann is a woman who seems like she doesn't have compassion for anyone will show us that she is the one that most worries about others trough out the book . On contrasts , papa (Hans Hubermann) and Liesel relationship become one of the most strong and lovely relationship that will make them inseparable friends but Liesel will love him like a father . Hans Hubermann is a tall kind guy who fought on the war and survived only because of a accordion . Throughout the novel you will see a change of personality of each of the characters. Just for a little taste Rose Hubermann will said the most meanness things to the ones that she loves because that's how she shows her love to them .

As papa show Liesel how to read because Liesel passion is to read and she sees books of something she needs to survive in live. As time past, Liesel become friends with Rudy Steiner a kid with yellow hair that will be with her in the good and rough times . They will become very close to each other that Liesel will fall in love  with him.

This novel takes places during war world 2 so you can imagine that not all of this is happiness on contrast happiness is not a big part of the book . Death is our narrative because on the time their will be alots of deaths , deaths of Jews , soldiers, or people dying because of the bad economy . This times were Germany's hardest time . Economy was bad and Jews were were killed by Nazis more and more every day. Max Vandenburg, a Jew that will be a huge part on Liesel life. Vandenburg , a Jew that has been hiding to survive and have successfully made his way . He needs to go and live at Hubermann's house to hide. As time passed Liesel and home become friends and get along with each other people in some way or another they have been Throughout the same things.  The Hubermanns live in Himmel Street a street they is very dangerous to hide a Jew . Liesel  have a very difficult time she suffered when her brother died, when her mom left her, when her papa was force to go to war, and at the end all of  the people that she loves dies when Himmel Streets is bombed .

The Book Thief  has effected me because you learned that children of our age have and are suffering a lot . Teenagers now days worried a lot and sometimes think that their lives are miserable without thinking of how bad other struggle to survive . Throughout this book I learned that you need to appreciate why you have without any regrets . At the being of this book I thought this book was going to be boring and not interesting because of the time it took place and of its cover . However , as you can see "you should never judge a book by its cover " . Even though the author's language is sometimes hard to understand you will like it a lot.  This book is not related to my life because my life is not as complex so theirs and maybe because of all the new things we have now . I recommend you this book, you will find it very interesting and will learned things about others that you never thought people will go throughout it.

Deaths book review xD

A book where you have many spoilers but what matters most is how the story plays out. "The Book Thief" is what the title says it is about a book thief. The book thief is a girl named Liesel that lives in Nazi Germany with her foster parents. Her life is explained by death and she goes thru a rough life but keeps going to find better.

Leisel is the main character in the story she lives in Nazi Germany. The street she lives in is named Himmel street. She witnessed her brother die when she was on a train on their way to Himmel street. Her real mother left her to get taken care of by Rosa Huberman and Hans Huberman. Liesel goes thru a lot of pain and also love.

Rudy Steiner a trouble maker also known as leisels best friend. Rudy likes leisel but leisel doesn't accept him and she loves him but she doesn't know it. Rudy always tries to get leisel to kiss him when he does her a favor Leisel always says no. Rudy is always there for leisel and she met him when Rudy was pretending to be Jesse Owens and he raced her. Leisel loses many loved ones in the story they all have great and distinct personalities.

The authors purpose is to entertain and inform the readers. The author informs us about what is happening in Germany. In the story the author gives an example that not everyone supported or liked Hitler. Some Germans hated how Hitler ran things in Germany he treated the poor really bad and gave them crap while, the rich ones were still treated bad but better. even the mayor had money problems in Germany. the Jews weren't the only ones to suffer from Germanys dictator.

Death is the narrator of the story and he saw leisel three times while picking up dead people. death sees the world in different colors and is very descriptive of what he sees. he picked up Leisel's diary from the trash when he saw her the last time. Death tells us how the story goes and spoils the story before it happens but the intriguing part is the way it happens. Death was the best choice of a narrator and that is why I recommend this book to be read.

Leisel Memingers Life

A tale of a young girl, book thievery, and a hidden Jew

I enjoyed reading the Book Thief. I recommend people reading it, it may look long but it'll be worth reading. Markus Zusak is a good author he uses a variety of words. He has a good style for writing. When you read this book you get really into it. It's a bit hard to be read in high school but it's also good because of the variation of imagery, it challenges students. I have to admit this is one of the best  Historical Fiction book I've ever read.

The main character is Leisel Meminger, she has a realistic life style for the time in which it took place. Her best friend Rudy has yellow hair and dreams to dreams of running like Jessie Owens. Leisels foster parents Hans Huberman and Rosa Huberman are both loving and caring. Hans is a more calm type of guy while Rosa is loud and a harsh person. Max is another main character who hides under Rosa and Hans home. Max and Leisel become good friends they were almost indivisible. Death the narrator isn't use to focusing in ones life while they're alive, but he becomes really interested in Leisels life. Throughout the story Leisel changes. When she first arrives in Himmel Street she doesn't like being with her foster parents. She wishes to have her brother and mother to her side. At first Leisel makes a fatherly connection with Hans. After a while Leisel starts noticing that Rosa cares for her. In the end Leisel learns to love both her foster parents. I can say I do have a connection with Leisel because she cares for the people that she's surrounded by, I do too.

Markus Zusak is an fascination author. He is very detailed with his writing. The only thing is that he does give a lot of spoil alerts. There's maybe too much imagery but that's what makes this book engrossing. Markus Zusaks style is extremely amazing. There is a variety of mood change and most of it is described using Imagery/ figurative language. The emotional qualities on this book is understandable and the dialogue is easy to understand. There's some parts where you can vividly see what's going on. Students in high school should be able to understand and read it clearly if they are focused to read it.

There's some things that did change my thoughts as read it. At first I thought and knew that I wasn't going to be able to read The Book Thief because of how long it was. There's more to this book then just another story about a family hiding a Jew during the Holocaust. Since this book was during the holocaust I don't have that much to relate. Like everyone in the world I have had family members die but I go on with my lie just like Leisel. Leisel is a strong character she went through so much throughout the book.

Even though The Book Thief is a really thick book high schoolers should be able to read it with no problem. There is always time to do something, it is worth reading. Believe me you won't regret it. This book can help you with being a better reader and understanding figurative language better. You shouldn't stop yourself from reading something you think you can't, give the Book Thief a try.
